Treasurers Report  (Christine Hazlett-CH)

The balance remains positive- £1270.16. £318.75 is due from Central Office for the quarter.  Income from Central also includes £20 from a holiday taken ( Ramblers worldwide holidays include donation to a named group)

Claims for 2026 are now due.   Central office will give £287 quarterly next year ( based on membership).  The group agreed that additional monies be claimed for travel

Action:   CH to claim from Central monies to cover mileage

Social Fund again is positive and has been helpful in paying for weekend walking trip.   Account has £43.50 which includes £3 Wednesday walk contributions

Membership ( Bob King BK).

177 membership.   18 new members since May.   3 Associates- these are people who belong to more than one group

Action:  BK to e mail all members regarding views on Whats App group and information available,

Secretary  (David Reed. DR)

DR  had no new information to report .  He had received some enquiries since previous meeting

Vice Chair/ Walk co-ordinator (Martyn Reed MR)

No new information as Vice Chair.  Walk discussion to be held at the end of the meeting

Footpath Officer (Allen Hazlett-AH)

 AH mentioned queries received but these were Co Durham so he gave no response.   Public consultation on footpath on Croft Road, known to the group.

Several members had also received a LA query re path changes since 1990’s……no record kept or known!!

Social Events ( Jane Parsons -JP)

 JP had sent a report in her absence

Skipton weekend had now 27 people.

Confirmation was needed by the hotel for 6th August.  Monies outstanding….£225 for single room and £310 for double.

Check in.  3pm on Friday and check out by 11am Sunday.   No parking fee

Action:   JP to notify those attending.  ( NB.  E mail sent by JP 25/7/25)

JP report contained information regarding meals

Group discussed and agreed a new start time

6.30pm for meals accepting that some may require 6.15 start to receive offer!

Publicity ( Margaret Dent- MD)

1 new walker from publicity in ‘One Darlington’. Leaflets replenished in the Library and Millets.

Poster to be put in the Community Board in Cockerton

Communication. (Marg West-MW)

What’s App group works well currently 40 members

• Grassington Trip- Final details to walkers. 8.30 coach at the Dolphin Centre

• Ramblers 90th Anniversary:  no new ideas

• Skipton Walks- DR had details of 2 walks- Gargrave and one starting from Hotel.

Agreed 1pm start for walk on Friday

Saturday 2 walks – one 5/6mls one 8/9 mls

Sunday walk and meal—discussion re venue

• First Aid Course.   PJ had been on a basic course provided by Red Cross. Donations to Red Cross only

Contact had been made and dates after the summer ( 10-15 each course)

Awareness of Apps…..Red Cross and St Johns

Discussion on using mobile phone for emergency contact ( MW for info see Ramblers Whats App)

• Walk Leaders training.   Recent e mail from Ramblers re new process

Agreed ALL walk leaders to do on- line training.

Additional Meeting.     Wednesday 3rd September for Skipton Walks.   7pm Britannia Inn

AGM.   7th November 2025.  ( includes Committee meeting).   7pm Britannia Inn
