About Me

During my elementary school years, my teacher taught the class about hobbies. She asked everyone to think about a hobby that he/she had. Like many young kids I had many interests, such as soccer, running, playing games, building model etc. I was raised in a not affluent family. Drawing is my most favorite hobby and it does not cost much money. It only requires a pencil and a piece of paper. I have seen many artists still draw at their old age; I believe that drawing can last for lifetime. Drawing has always been my best interest. I draw all the time regardless on my mood, happy, sad, bore, mad... Every page of my text books was full of my drawings, such as dragons, super heroes, robots, portraits of my teachers. My first flip book animation was done on my text book too. I never have to buy a single piece of paper, I would draw on the inside of the used wrapping paper, used drawing paper that people flew away, even the wall of my house, wherever there is some white space I would make used it for drawing. During my middle and high school years, art was no longer been taught at the school. On the other hand, I won awards for my drawings and designs in many different contests during those years. After I graduated from high school, my condition wasn't allowed me to continue my college education; I went to design school as part-time student while working for an advertising company. After few years of hard work with some saving, thanks to my very supportive family, the idea of study overseas gradually became an option for me. Finally I took the chance to pursuit my dream in the United States.

With the help of my friends and family, I was finally accepted by an accredited university in New Jersey. Based on my situation at that time, I picked a major which I believe I could easily earn my living after I graduate. I ended up major in Marketing and minor in Computer Science instead of continue my passion in fine art.

After I graduated, I moved to California and found a job as a web master. After several years, I was doing good in my career and got several promotions. However, there is a small voice tell me that I shall do something about art. I've started my MFA (Master of Fine Art) program shortly after I married and concentrated in animation. Due to family dynamic changes, I had to give up to pursuit my MFA. Art still is part of my life. I had taught art classes to kids during summer day camp; taught art at my kids school as volunteer. I enjoyed seeing youngsters who appreciate art and proud of what he/she made. This year, I have a chance to go back to college to study fine art. I really enjoy the study. Many people think that I have talent in art. I know it very well that talent is never enough. I always remind myself that I am playing a catch up as I start a new chapter of my life to pass my passion and knowledge about art to the next generation.

Drop me a note if you have any feedback for me.
