Classroom Norms Possibilities

At the beginning of class we may choose classroom norms to help establish our class culture, using core ideas of Trust, Sharing, Belonging, and Respect. I may add some of my own as well. Here are some possibilities, in a few rough categories:

• 1. Assume positive intent

  2. Respect others and yourself

  3. Be kind

  4. Take space, make space

  5. Put yourself out there

  6. Ask for help

  7. Try

  8. Make mistakes

  9. Learning over grades

  10. Everybody participates

  11. No side conversations

  12. Take turns talking
