Here is a picture of the leaders of the photo unit at Sangley Point Naval Station. On the left was Chief Smith and the labs First Class petty officer Alonzo (Lonnie ) Slaughter . It made me very sad to hear that Lonnie was lost , when a helicopter crashed during a rescue mission when the Eel river flooded December 26 1964 while stationed aboard the USS Bennington CV-20
