CapitolFax has a thread titled: "Chamber urges Rauner to “hang in there”" which you can read here.
[ Got time? Then take the time. Read some or all of the commentary. Here's a couple. ]
- AC - Thursday, Oct 29, 15 @ 1:39 pm:
==If 4 months of pain is “worth it”, how many months until it’s “not worth it”.==
Until Illinois government is in shambles. What we view as a disease, Rauner views as the cure. The budget situation is either deliberate or the result of incompetence, and most certainly not the result of Rauner’s victimhood. The longer this drags on, the more I believe it is deliberate.
- PublicServant - Thursday, Oct 29, 15 @ 1:11 pm:
Todd, the Job Creators are the consumers that implementation of Rauner’s Agenda will hurt. See businesses sell to consumers, and if consumers are hurting, then business is hurting.
In addition, businesses exist to make profits. They don’t create jobs unless there’s a per unit profit to be made in producing the next widgit. If they had extra cash, they wouldn’t create a single job unless there was money in it. If they’re already selling all the widgits consumers are willing and able to buy, why would they create any new jobs? Supply-side theory has proven time and time again to be fantasy. Empowering the consumer is the key to growing a business, not the other way around. Stop trying to have the tail wag the dog. K?

If you cook at home & like to try something different from time to time, here's a Recipe from Beaver Creek Cooking. We used to have this a few times in the past, but, for us, it always turns out great. So, we end up having this about monthly or even more frequently now-a-days. The extra ingredients you may not have on hand will probably cost about $10. Give it a try. It's called "Puck's Vinegar French Chicken" and you can see it here.

Destroying Illinois.
Well, FINALLY.
Non profit support organizations and those in need have been voicing the destruction The Governot's approach to 'so-called governing' is causing for months and months.
Former Governor Edgar has been out there, publicly, for a while now; hasn't backed down, while enduring The Governot's possible psychosis and ramping up the rhetoric recently.
Early last week, one of The Governot's 1%'er Buddies came out publicly about raunner's crap.
And, The Governot's hand picked appointee for Comptroller Munger came out against The Governot! Guess she wouldn't if she thought she couldn't spin this in her favor should The Governot put up another candidate against her.
And, I suspect that many of the Repubs in the GA are getting tired of The Governot's act as well.
So, here's some links.
CapitolFax has a thread titled: "“I’ve got $400 million at risk in our city”" which you can read here.
CapitolFax has a thread titled: "Munger urges Rauner to stop attacking unions, Edgar reiterates plea to stop holding the budget hostage" which you can read here.
You should read the complete Edgar article by Bernard Schoenburg in the State Journal-Register here.
[ Must be getting serious when his rich 'friends' and other Repub office holders are sick and tired of The Governot's obsessive act of flushing IL down the rat hole and apparently not caring one bit. Understanding that The Governot is all about pressuring the Dems and maybe, just maybe it's HIS turn to get some pressure he didn't expect nor want. ]
October 19, 2015
CapitolFax has a thread titled: "Unclear on the concept" which you can read here.
[ Scary. Even The Governot's own 'leadership' doesn't know what's going on. ]
[ And, a handful of comments: ]
- Truthteller - Tuesday, Oct 13, 15 @ 1:03 pm:
Rauner says he will raise taxes on cops, teachers, and tradesmen, but only if he is allowed to lower their wages. Who’s for that other than Rauner and Ken Griffin?
- Bemused - Tuesday, Oct 13, 15 @ 1:13 pm:
Is there no one on the Governor’s side of the GA capable of putting his demands into bill form and presenting them for a vote. Maybe they could start with that Balanced Budget the Governor by law is to present to the GA for their consideration and vote.
Bruce lost all credibility with me when he refused to line item the budget down to the 32 Billion the state was to take in for the fiscal year. He wanted to allow the sunset of the income tax. Okay now step up and show the numbers on how to spend what’s left.
- RNUG - Tuesday, Oct 13, 15 @ 2:15 pm:
== Besides more taxes (which aren’t viewed favorably by firms looking to locate in Illinois) what fresh ideas can we consider for Illinois’ future? ==
Businesses need to plan for the future and care a lot more about a stable tax and regulatory environment (which we don’t have) than the specific tax rate.

[ Yeah; it's a rerun; but a good one.
Her name is 'Hope'; but sometimes referred to around here as 'Hopeless'. ;> She's a cutie. ]
[ As an aside, she got into the kitchen a week ago; got up to the counter; grabbed & ate a 1 pound loaf of rising bread (!) ; but didn't pull the glass loaf pan off the counter & ended up with a VERY LONG (read expensive) day at the vet. Somewhat explaining the 'Hopeless' title she earned. ]
