Membership and Eligibility

Are part-time students eligible?

Yes, only if the part-time student has accumulated a total of 12 credit hours, a 3.5 GPA, and received an invitation to join.

Can a high school student become a member?

A high school student enrolled at LSC-CyFair who completes at least 12 hours of associate degree course work with at least a 3.5 GPA and has received an invitation IS eligible for membership.

Are international students eligible to become a member?

Yes. Phi Theta Kappa is an international organization that welcomes all who have completed at least 12 credit hours and have at least a 3.5 GPA.

Is there a membership fee to join Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society?

Yes, it is a ONE-TIME membership fee of $80.

At what point does a student officially become a member?

A student becomes a member when their membership application has been approved and membership fees have been paid. A student must be recorded as a member at Headquarters in order to receive all the rights, privileges and benefits of membership.
