Fox Lab people

Jessica Fox, PhD

Principal Investigator

I am interested in the neural mechanisms of sensory information processing and flight control in insects. I am originally from upstate New York and I have a BS in entomology from Cornell University. I did my PhD in neurobiology and behavior at the University of Washington and a postdoc at UCLA, funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. I've been at CWRU since 2013.

Favorite flavor: chocolate peanut butter cup

Kristianna Lea

PhD student

Kris majored in entomology at Cornell and then worked in the business world as an analyst before deciding to pursue PhD research in neuroethology. She joined the lab in fall 2021.

Favorite flavor: rocky road

Jeremy Didion, PhD

Postdoc

Jeremy earned his PhD studying color vision at the University of Cincinnati. He's now exploring multi-sensory integration in the fly brain.  We make him wear the shirt so we won't forget who he is.

Favorite flavor: chocolate peanut butter cup

Amy Streets

Postdoc

Amy earned her PhD in biology from the University of Queensland, where she studied mantis shrimp vision. She is looking forward to working with friendlier animals in her time in Cleveland.

Nobel Zhou

Undergraduate, CWRU '24

Nobel is a double major in neuroscience and computer science. He's working on computational models of the mechanisms by which flies combine visual and mechanosensory information for gaze control.

Favorite flavor: Bing cherry chocolate chunk

Alan Liang

Undergraduate, CWRU '27

Alan is a CWRU neuroscience and mathematics double major who is working on gravity perception in scavenger flies.
