In addition to focused and ongoing efforts to maintain a trail network and cleared areas near gazebos on The Point and Cellar Point CICC has several projects, generally done with volunteers, including the following:
control invasive species on land cleared of downed timber between Whitehead and the Quarry.
reestablish native plants on areas cleared of invasive cover.
reclaim and maintain the view from the gazebo at the Point.
clear invasive species and maintain the view from the gazebo on Cellar Point.
place and maintain bluebird and owl nest boxes
maintain a bee yard on Farm Hill
maintain a path from Calumet Ave to the drainage ditch in the Swamp
in-kind support with equipment and supplies
reopen and control invasive species on the old Ottawa House foundation site
maintain clearing done by mowing projects, especially the partially completed fire lane from Whitehead to the Point
reopen old hotel road from White property to the old wellhead parallel to Calumet Ave (should be ready by Spring 2016)
maintain road bed in front of the old Ottawa House foundation
CICC projects in 2011:
Implement the Maine Forest Service’s FireWise recommendation for a 20-25 foot wide firebreak from Whitehead to the Point along Jackson Blvd and Olmsted Road, aka Point Path (mostly competed and being maintained)
Clear invasive plants along Calumet Ave and Farm Hill Road
Reopen the hotel road bed by bottom of the hotel steps in the Fairy Glen to Big Beach and up to the hotel foundation

Clear invasives off of Whitehead and off of and below Battery Foote
