Step 1: Get in Touch
Email Pack4044@gmail.com, and come check us out at a Pack or Den meeting. This is a great time to learn more about what we do and answer any questions you may have. Our pack strives to offer great experiences for kids and families in Scouting while also being mindful of families various constraints and other commitments.
Step 2: Complete Application
Submit an Application for Scout Application (Youth).
Step 3: Pay Dues
National Scouting America and Mount Baker Council annual dues are paid at the time of application, and you will be reminded to renew annually after you join. Our Pack does not charge additional dues, instead we ask that you to help out with Pack events and assist with fundraising. If the fees are a barrier for your family, the Mount Baker Council offers assistance, see Mount Baker Council Scholarship Information for details.
Step 4: Acquire Scout Handbook & Uniform
We recommend you check in with the pack before purchasing anything as the pack has some new and lightly used items, that we'd love to pass on. A scout is thrifty!
Need:
Scout Handbook
Class A cub scout shirt (navy) with Mt Baker Council patch on the sleeve and 4044 numbers for the Pack
Nice to have (but not required):
Den hat, neckerchief, and slide.
Items provided by the Pack:
Patches/belt loops/pins to show your advancement
Class B T-shirt
Uniforms can be purchased through https://mountbakerscouting.org/shop/ or Scoutshop.org.
Step 5: Volunteer as a Parent
The Pack benefits from everyone being involved in leading, planning, and sharing their skills and experience. As you familiarize yourself with the group and our activities, please let us know where you'd like to get more involved.
