WHY IS THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS SO IMPORTANT?
Ø Recess Resources, Inc. is a Not-for-Profit Corporation and as such we are required to operate under the guidance of a Board of Directors.
Ø This Board is to be comprised of individuals who volunteer their time and experience to the organization.
We need an active Board to assist us in setting goals for future growth and maintaining the mission of the organization. “Quality, Affordable Child-Care Services for Families.”
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSBILITIES OF MEMBERS?
Ø Board Members are asked to attend 8 meetings (2 hours each) throughout the calendar year. There are no meetings in Dec., Jan., July & Aug.
Ø Each member has the right to vote on issues and project proposals that are brought before the Board for their consideration.
Ø The Board of Directors is an Advisory Panel that works with the Executive Director. Their primary focus is to ensure the continuation of services, through the organizations financial stability, and compliance with New York State Regulations.
Ø The members also assist in the determination of organizational policies and develop short and long range goals for the program.
Ø Committees can be set up as needed to work on special projects. By sharing your particular area of expertise you can aid in the success of a proposed program enhancement project. Members may choose to participate in one or several of these groups. They may also choose to become an Officer
of the Board.
WHY SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BECOMING A MEMBER?
Ø If you are a parent or local employer whose staff depend on our services you can help to insure that our program remains available.
Ø We cannot achieve our goals of enrichment, education and community involvement without your support.
Ø You will help to shape the future of our School Age Child-Care & Pre-School programs. Parent/Community input is crucial to insure that our Center continues to address the ever changing needs of the families we serve.
