Student Volunteer Opportunities

Programs for  – Children ages 3 to 12yrs

Cub Care Children's Center Recess Resources Inc. provides Pre-School and School Age programs - The center is registered with the Office of Children and Family Services. All applicants for volunteer positions must complete our volunteer application, be fingerprinted and cleared and complete basic training requirements and demonstrate proper conduct in a child care setting.

Pre-School Program

Our Pre-Sch. for 3 & 4 year olds offers young children an opportunity to explore their world and learn through hands on play and directed learning activities that build their independence.

Pre-School Helper – 9:00 – 11:45 am Or 12:30 – 3:15 pm

Participate in classroom activities with children, role model social play, engage children in new experiences, work one on one with children on skill building. You can volunteer from 1 to 5 days per week and for a little as 1 hour per day. You can also choose to be a classroom prep helper or special event/fieldtrip helper and/or     work with our ”Honey Helpers” parent group on projects.

School Age Program

Our SACC programs offer children as safe and fun place to begin and end their day enjoying time with friends and adults who look forward to spending time with them.

Before School Helper 7:00 - 8:50 a.m.

We have 5 sites in the Vestal Schools. Volunteer for 1 to 5 days/wk.

Play games, color, build, just listen & let a child start the day with a smile!

After School Helper 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.

All 5 Vestal Schools combine in our after school program –it’s time to relax after a hard day at school, socialize, do homework, crafts, computers, sports & games. and most of all have Fun with Friends!

Office Assistant – logging information, maintaining files, updating records, etc…

Fund-raising Assistant – Help promote and track fund-raising activities, create a fund-raiser.

Tech Assistant – Are you gifted with computers? Help maintain our Network, update our Website. Help produce our end of the year videos for our Pre-School families.

Help us dive into the world of social media.

Exec. Director’s Assistant - Experience what is involved in running a non-profit child care center.  Attend Board meeting and work on special projects with the Exec Dir.
