This game, part of the Colour Clash challenge for the month of July, came to me on the last but one day of the month. Surprisingly, no other game submitted in July was a Challenge entry, so even if this game doesn't win the whole competition, at least it will win this challenge!

On to the game itself. The game arrived as a snapshot. Still nothing wrong with that, although I do so miss the fun of seeing a really good loading screen then finding a rubbish game lurking therein. The title screen gives you the gist of what is involved:

Title Screen

When the title appears, a pixel is PLOTted to the left of it and as it moves along it changes the colour of the title. This is a nice little touch, even if it is a little slow.

The game starts, and you have to move the ever-flickering crosshairs around the screen (using QAOP) to the location where you think that pixel is and hit SPACE. This draws a CIRCLE on the screen in a random INK colour. This is where the colour clash is going to come in to play - the more you build up your guesses the more randomly coloured circles will be drawn and the more you'll change their colour as you move your crosshairs around trying to guess the location of the next pixel!

Game Play (well, sort of)

The first time I did this I scored a point, so must have done something right. Strangely enough, though, once this "beginner's luck" had left me I couldn't hit another target at all. I managed to survive around 10 goes (I couldn't sit through all 50) and still had only scored 1 point. Either the game is bugged, or my aim is well off. The trouble is, that even if you were quite close on one go, there's no way of knowing how close you were, so when you go near that circle again to try to figure out where the new one is, you aren't sure your previous guess was good or bad. This makes it almost impossible to play successfully. After 17 goes and only scoring 5 points, on the next go I placed the crosshairs at the top of the screen (where I thought I needed to play next) and hit SPACE and was suddenly greeted with an error. Oops - bonus points there.

It's a good idea but is a bit frustrating though and quite difficult to get a decent score. It was all going well until the error. I guess there's an issue with drawing at the top of the screen. It rates quite high in the attribute clash stakes too.

Score: 50 fat zeros out of 45,056 pixels.
