Connecting a training transmitter

• • Connect the transmitter to the USB port of the computer.

  • Start CRRSCIM

  • Press 'ESC" and go to Options >  Controls > Input Method

  • Select the controller.  In my case it was 'joystick'.  The joystick was detected as SMART-RC USB

  • Click OK

  • Click Configure

  • If there is no error message popping up, go to configure.  The channel numbers for each channel are shown

  • Move the elevator, aileron and throttle sticks and see the effect on the sliders.

  • The sliders should move to each end of the movement range.  

  • The MIXER options are more advanced and can be experimented with later. 

  • Move the controls and select the corresponding number for the control.

  • Move the controls to the extremes to calibrate.

  • Click OK and OK.

  • Test fly the model.  (The transmitter is more sensitive and generates higher rates of input than the mouse as I had configured it)
