Connecting a training transmitter
Connect the transmitter to the USB port of the computer.
Start CRRSCIM
Press 'ESC" and go to Options > Controls > Input Method
Select the controller. In my case it was 'joystick'. The joystick was detected as SMART-RC USB
Click OK
Click Configure
If there is no error message popping up, go to configure. The channel numbers for each channel are shown
Move the elevator, aileron and throttle sticks and see the effect on the sliders.
The sliders should move to each end of the movement range.
The MIXER options are more advanced and can be experimented with later.
Move the controls and select the corresponding number for the control.
Move the controls to the extremes to calibrate.
Click OK and OK.
Test fly the model. (The transmitter is more sensitive and generates higher rates of input than the mouse as I had configured it)
This is my joystick transmitter: Copter X CX-S03
CX-S03 USB controller for RC aircraft
Default control in Mouse, change this
I changed my input to Joystick - device was automatically recognized.
Move controls and change set the channels for Elevator, Throttle and Rudder. Then calibrate as instructed.
