TROOP FUND-RAISING
TROOP FUND-RAISING
Scouting America's rules prohibit local units from asking for donations. Soliciting directly for donations is reserved for the national organization and councils.
Local units (Packs/Troops/Crews) must provide a tangible product or service for their fund-raising activities. Internet sales are now a thing; a Scout may provide a link and that allows you to order products online to be delivered in the mail and the Scout gets the credit for the sale.
SCAM ALERT: A Scout will never call/text/email to ask for a direct donation.
Troop 87 has multiple fund-raising opportunities for the Scouts.
Popcorn Sales ~ Flower Sales ~ Wreath Sales
Profits from the door-to-door sales go directly into the Scouts' account and is used to pay for camping fees, food, etc. for weekend outings, high adventures, and summer camp.
Hill and Valley Antique Auto & Americana Show - Lunch Counter
and
Helping at the Lions Club Lunch stand at Enchanted Valley Acres' corn maze.
Profits from these events are used by the Troop to maintain equipment, purchase awards, and pay for adult training.
Troop 87 is always open to partnering with local businesses and groups in our fund-raising efforts. If your orginization would like to support Scouting please email us or phone our Comittee Chairperson Mr. Timmon Zander (608) 219-2915.
