The Institute for Culture and Society of the University of Navarra is looking for the best candidates for the 2016 Marie Sklodowska Curie Individual Fellowships, the major action for researcher training and development funded by the European Comission. The submission deadline is May 5. Researchers selected through the ICS-UNav call will be invited to a two-day meeting in our Pamplona campus in mid-June. Subsequently, they will be offered supervision and guidance throughout the application process. These profiles are in relation with our ongoing research projects:

  • Formulaic creativity: The cognitive science of oral traditions and multimodal narrative

  • Embodied concepts and conceptual integration: Time and emotions in language, literature, and gesture

  • Gesture and pragmatics

  • Analysis of political discourse: Populism and the new politics

The Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) wants to support excellent researchers to prepare their applications to join us through the MSCA Fellowship Programme.

This month of June, we will carry out a two day meeting with researchers interested in submitting an application to the Marie Sklodowska Curie Action International Fellowships (MSCA IF 2016) in September with the aim to spend between 1 and 2 years with us.

The selected candidates will be invited to Pamplona to attend the meeting, get to know the Host Institution, and spend some time with their supervisors. Within the sessions there will be an open INFODAY with one of the Spanish NCP for MSCA

Timeline

SUBMISSION OF CANDIDATE’S PROPOSALS (Deadline: 5th May 2016)

The candidates must submit their application via e-mail to applicant.msca@unav.es enclosing the following documents:

· Cover letter

· CV (max 3 pages)

· A general research proposal idea (max 2 pages)

Please, include in the subject of the message the selected position (e. g. “Emotional Culture and Identity. Profile 1”)

The ICS will carry out a selection process to choose those candidates that better fit into ICS’s research interests. The notification to the future applicants is expected by the third week of May

UNAV MSCA MEETING IN PAMPLONA (Tentative dates: 8th-9th June 2016)

This meeting is intended to get to know the University of Navarra, the Institute for Culture and Society and the candidate’s future supervisor and research group. The selected candidates will present their research ideas in open sessions and will have the opportunity to discuss them with the researchers of the ICS. In addition, we will hold a conference with the Spanish NCP for Marie Curie Actions together with Marie Curie grantees who will share their experience with us and help clarify practical and administrative issues.

DRAFT PROPOSAL WRITING (Deadline: 15th July 2016)

Each candidate will prepare a first version of the application with his/her supervisor and send it via e-mail to applicant.msca@unav.es no longer than the abovementioned date. In this process, as well as for registration, the candidates will also have the support of the International Project Office of the University of Navarra

FEEDBACK ON THE PROPOSAL (August)

By the end of August, the candidate will receive feedback from the ICS Scientific Direction regarding scientific issues and from the International Project Office regarding economic and administrative aspects of the proposal.
