Installation and upgrades
In order to install CornerFix, first download the appropriate install file. Then, depending on your operating system, do the following:
Windows
Installing
- Important: Make sure you have the latest service pack and critical updates for the version of Windows that you are running. To find recent security updates, visit Windows Update.
- If you are running Windows XP, and it is not already present on your computer, install the Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package. This can be obtained from this location.
- Follow the install instructions on the download page.
- Note: .NET is already installed on most new PC's by default. You can check whether it is already installed on yours by going to Start->Control Panel->Add and Remove Programs and seeing whether “Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0” appears on the list of installed programs.
- Note: .NET is is a large download.
- Install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package. This can be obtained from this location.
- Follow the install instructions on the download page.
- Unzip the CornerFix.zip file by double-clicking on it. Then simply copy the files to any convenient location, such as your desktop. To run CornerFix for Windows, just double-click the cornerfixw.exe file.
Upgrading
In order to upgrade CornerFix for Windows, follow these two steps. Note that you may need administrator permissions:
- Unzip the CornerFix.zip file by double-clicking on it. Then simply copy the files over the previous version. To run CornerFix for Windows, just double-click the cornerfixw.exe file.
- If you are upgrading from a version of CornerFix for Windows prior to 1.0.0.0, you will have to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package, as discussed above. Prior versions used the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package
Mac OS X
Installing
- Important: Make sure you have the latest service pack and critical updates for the version of Mac OS that you are running.
- UnZip the CornerFix distribution file.
- Drag the CornerFix.app file to your Applications folder
Updating
- Follow the same procedure as for a new install.
