Lab Resources

One of the goals of the Language Documentation Lab is to provide members with the tools and education they need to work with primary language data, contribute to language documentation, and process, store, and archive language data. In addition to working space, the lab has recording equipment, laptop and desktop computers, external drive storage, and a small library of language materials and books on methodology. Lab Space

The Language Documentation Lab's physical space is located in the Department of Linguistics at Cornell University on the second floor of Morrill Hall, in room 226a. The lab space can be used for sessions with language consultants as well as for individual or group research. To schedule lab time, please contact the lab director.

Equipment

The lab currently has portable field recorders, microphones, external hard drives, a projector, and a laptop computer. To check anything out, please use the member pages or contact the lab director.

Cornell Resources

Various resources are available on campus for members of the Cornell community, including:

  • Cornell Libraries Equipment & Software Cornell University offers a wide range of equipment and software to serve the diverse needs of the Cornell community. Items such as camcorders, still cameras, GPS units and audio recorders can be checked out for use by faculty, students, and staff. Software to convert and edit digital content can be found across campus.
