Coovam Lizards 8 AM Weather data are being gathered by amateur enthusiasts like school students and their parents. Properly installed manual and semi-automated electronic devices located at Periyar Nagar, Chennai 600082, Tamil Nadu, India, are used for data collection. Readings shown are at 8 AM.

Unit definitions: ͦ C = Temperature in Degrees Celsius. hPa = Atmospheric pressure in hectoPascal (equivalent to mbar or millibar). RH % = Relative humidity of the air in percent. Rain mm = 24-hour precipitation accumulated measured in millimeters. Trace = light drizzle but no measurable rain. km/h = Wind speed in kilometer per hour. Wind direction SSE = South-Southeasterly wind, N = Northerly wind. The direction from which the wind comes from. eg. Chennai's evening sea breeze is an easterly. Devices used are La Crosse Technology, Model WS2308 Weather Station and associated peripherals.
Note: The instruments used for this data collection are mounted on a building. Thermometer, manometer and hygrometer are located 9 meters above the street level, while anemometer is located 12.5 meters above, at the geographic coordinates: 13o07'02.10" N & 80o13'24.61" E
