Mathematical thinking- this encompasses what it means to learn mathematics and be a mathematician. To reason and think in mathematical ways and to apply understanding and skills in solving problems. In other words this is the Using and Understanding that must run through all other strands The value of THINKING MATHEMATICALLY cannot be understated. It is beyond being good with numbers and calculating.
