Elisa Gambuzzi was born in 1986. She is a 3rd year PhD student at the M2SCS school of graduate studies, where she conducts a research activity in the field of simulation of structural and spectroscopic properties of oxyde glasses under the supervision of Dr. Alfonso Pedone. To develop the investigations she employes the following codes: DLPOLY, CP2K, CASTEP, QUANTUM ESPRESSO and VASP (basic knowledge).
From October 2012 to June 2013 she was visiting student at Laboratoire de Structure et Dynamique par Résonance Magnétique, at CEA Saclay (France), working in the group of Dr. Thibault Charpentier. There she performed Solid State NMR experiments on amorphous samples and investigated Molybdenum solubilization in silicate glasses by a synergistic computational-experimental approach.
Her advanced education has been achieved at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy). There, in 2008, she received a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, with full marks and honors (110/110 cum laude). In 2011 she got a Master Degree in Chemistry of Materials, defending a thesis in the field of computational chemistry: "Characterization of structural and spectroscopic properties of silicate glasses: a computational approach", getting a full marks (110/110) evaluation.
In May 2012 she was awarded with "Cirillo Mussini Prize", given by Ceramiche Atlas Concorde corporation to brilliant newly graduated people in scientific, technological and economic subjects.
