14th February 2013: a conference at our school for our students about the access issues for disabled people. A university teacher gave the lecture.

15th February 2013: Sarıyer Municipality also has a division for disabled people and the manager is disabled himself. The partners from Istinye have got into contact with them and the manager visited the school . He was very interested about our project. You can find some pictures of the meeting.

On 5th May 2013, the Comenius project group of Vicco von Bülow Gymnasium went to visit the gym „Fit 2000“ to get information about different sports for the disabled.

On 23rd September 2013, the Comenius project group of Vicco von Bülow Gymnasium went to Potsdam to visit the “Oberlin-Haus”, an institution supporting all kinds of disabled people. We wanted to become more aware of the circumstances of their lives.

Visit to Veysel Vardar Primary School
Istanbul, 13th November 2013: The Comenius Team in Istanbul visited this school where blind children are taught. They offer a wonderful music show.
Visit to Six Dots Foundation
Istanbul, 14th November 2013: The Comenius Team in Istanbul visited the 6-Dots Fundation. This institution offers blind young people 5-6 months of education for their adaptation. As the teacher of Computer Science explained, blind people have to accept their situation: they are blind. At first, they fell insecurity, but after the can become more confident. They can do things they couldn't before and they accept themselves as blind people.
The teachers and caregivers teach them that they can have a job, a life like other people.
The taught subjects are: computer knowledge, independent movements skills, home tasks (cooking, cleaning, ironing...), handmade skills, practical maths, call center training (a common workplace for them), Braille alphabet... among others.
