The Binding

Drawn to the city of New Orleans, Sybella Rose seeks answers hidden in mausoleums of lore, and she soon discovers that history and mystery walk together in this world filled with more dead than the living. As this recipe for love and power is revealed, Sybella Rose tastes a bit of rebellion, befriends a lonely ghost, and drowns in the essence of a certain vampire before finally succumbing to her inevitable end.

Though she is dead, life is good. Being the Vampire Queen of New Orleans is not without its perks. For Sybella Rose, her new life with her mate, King Demien, with whom she shares the connection of the Binding, is a vampire's version of happily-ever-after. She has adapted to the differences that come with being a preternatural creature and is making her way as vampire royalty. Yet, life and everything Sybella knows about herself is about to be uprooted. A new presence of faeries menaces the city, and it will take the combined efforts of vampires, witches, a little voodoo, one ghost, and a small white cat to solve the mystery and save the vampires from a detrimental curse that could lead to their demise. With the help of friends, old and new, Sybella must learn what it means to be a Witch's Pawn.

As each evening passes, life in the Big Easy becomes increasingly complicated, at least it does for Sybella Rose, Vampire Queen of New Orleans. Sybella Rose and her friends uncover that the Binding was nothing more than a curse to control and eradicate vampires worldwide.

Now, she must unearth a way to abolish the curse and free vampires of faery manipulations, but she will need help. Unfortunately, the Touchets have been avoiding her, and it seems they harbor much-needed information about the Binding.

Will Sybella Rose lose her friends before she can destroy the Binding? Have their efforts been for naught?

A Vampire Virtuoso, a Faery Prince, and a slew of heinous murders.

I have promenaded down the streets and avenues of New Orleans for two hundred years. Born and long since dead, I received the Cadeau de Sang Illecebrous at the tender age of sixteen in 1820, and ever since that lurid moment, I, Zylphia Lynum, have shadowed the Crescent City, hunting prey as a vampire.

That life is no more, whether I like it or not. Our Monarchs, for whom I would do anything, have created and promoted a time of peace among the witches, voodoo practitioners, ghosts, and now the half-fae that have entered our sacred city. Now, some half-faeries are missing, and the Seelie Queen of faeries threatens to wage war on the vampires of New Orleans. With my King and Queen on their honeymoon, it’s up to me to assuage the faeries and protect my city, all while dealing with a captivating faery who turned up in Claret right before the killings began to occur. I have no time for a tryst and certainly no need for anything more, but he is wrapped into every aspect of our faery drama, and his ocean blue eyes haunt my every step.

The danger in New Orleans grows as Orlagh, Queen of the Seelie Fae, strikes again. Voodoo Queen of New Orleans, Josephine Touchet, must get together with her friends and family to unite the vampires, faeries, and witches to end this threat. Prophetic dreams of death and destruction caused by her unborn daughter, Solomon Cille, plague JoJo’s sleep, warning her of trouble to come.

Solomon Cille is young, but a heavy burden hangs on her head. The Seelie Queen chose her to host a parasitic faery within her body, a blood elemental that feeds off of Solomon’s essence and urges her to go to war against her city, but things don’t go as Orlagh plans. With the help of her family and control over a unique type of magic, Solomon prepares to face the Seelie Queen head-on to save her city and protect her love.

After the death of Queen Orlagh, the once Seelie Queen of faeries, and her evil henchman King Eldon, king of Zoanthia, trouble brews in the faery realm. While the Seelie and Unseelie courts struggle for peace under the new rule, a monstrous faery takes control of Zoanthia.

Colleen O’Brien, High Priestess of the New Orleans witches, is fed up with faeries threatening her city. Her friends defeated the key players. Life should be back to normal. Yet, the good times haven’t started to roll. Instead, humans and fae are captured and killed all over the city as the vampires reestablish their government, and fearful witches punish innocents. Colleen must do what she can to establish peace for her friends, New Orleans, and the faeries in Elfrice.

But must she do it with Niz, the rakish, insufferable nix that has been a thorn in her side for almost twenty years?
