Cougar Trail

In the Fall of 2016, the Clague community celebrated the dedication of the Cougar Trail, a walking/running path located around the perimeter of the Clague Middle School Athletic fields.  The trail is intended for use by students, neighbors, and the northeast Ann Arbor community and measures one-third of a mile.

The Cougar Trail project began in 2011, when a survey showed support in the community for building a track on the Clague campus.  The project budget was $65,000, with $30,000 provided by the Clague PTSO.  The remainder of the funding was provided by donations from the community and the Ann Arbor Public Schools.  Construction was completed in Spring 2016.  Signs along the trail were installed in the summer of 2017 as part of an Eagle Scout project by a Clague alumnus.

The trail provides a safer venue for several running programs at Clague, including the cross country and track teams, the Winter Running Club, and the Spring 5K Fun Run.  The trail helps support efforts by Clague staff and PTSO in promoting a healthy school environment.
