Christian influence within the culture of our nation decisively declined over the past 50 or 60 years. Why?
There are a number of reasons. Among them are:
Many if not most of the churches of America have submitted to popular culture which generally lacks traditional moral values.
Christians have fallen for the 'separation of church and state' deception promoted by progressives and atheists.
Seminaries and church leaders have misinterpreted and misapplied scriptural principles.
Church leaders have failed to relate Scripture to relevant social, moral, and governmental issues.
A growing cancer of excessive tolerance and inadequate discernment in matters of morality and competing world views.
The root question remains: Why have all of these things occurred? I have seen no better explanation than human nature as depicted by some as 'the pride cyle' or the 'complacency' or 'self-satisfaction' cycle. More on that will be described HERE.
In the meantime, here are two great messages from Ravi Zacharias on this topic:

We know what our modern culture looks like. But do we know why? What beliefs and ideas caused such troubling results? Ravi Zacharias takes a look at that question, this week on Let My People Think.
