Here is the routine at the after school club setting at St Patrick's Catholic Primary School, Birkby:
3.15-3.25pm
§ Children arrive at the dining hall for registration.
§ All reception/foundation stage children and year 1 children are escorted from their classes to the dining hall by a member of school staff.
§ Children in years 2 and above arrive at the dining hall independently
3.30pm-4.00pm
§ Indoor/Outdoor play
4pm-4.30pm
§ Children are reminded to wash their hands
§ Children sit down at dining hall tables arranged into year groups where they are served snack.
§ A member of staff serves water to drink if the children do not have their water bottles.
4.30pm-5.30
§ Children are encouraged to use the toilet facilities before going out to play.
§ Weather permitting, all children are taken to the outdoor playground (back playground from about February and Front playground from about October with floodlights).
§ If there is adverse weather, children are encouraged to play games in the school Hall where a number of resources are available.
§ The children choose play resources from the outdoor store as they are passing to go to the play area.
§ Indoor and outdoor resources are available.
5.30pm-6pm
§ all remaining children are brought back to the dining hall to await their parents arrival and to tidy up and put away resources.
