Chia-Wei was born in Kaohsiung and grew up in Tainan, Taiwan. He got his BSc. (2006) and MSc. (2008) in National Tsing Hua University (NTHU). After one year service in military, he taught in National Experimental High School as the intern teacher. From 2010 to 2011, he was the research assistant in the Department of Chemistry and Nuclear Science and Technology Development Center. In fall 2011, he started his PhD career with Dr. Miljanic in the Department of Chemistry, University of Houston and obtained his PhD in spring 2016. Then he moved to Chicago to work with Dr. Neal Mankad at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2016. In 2018, he joined Argonne National Laboratory focusing on Process R&D and scale-up in battery materials and biomaterial-based polymer. In 2021, Chia-Wei moved to Columbus, Ohio to join Chemical Abstarcts Service as an information Scientist.
Chia-Wei is interested not only chemistry but also jogging, writing, playing tennis and badminton.
