RESEARCH INTERESTS

Our lab focuses on the central mechanisms underlying pain and oral functions. We use non-invasive neuroimaging methods, including structural and functional MRI, to investigate the brain features associated with orofacial pain, mastication, swallowing, and dental fear/anxiety.

The book authored by Dr. Chia-Shu Lin, Dental Neuroimaging: The Role of the Brain in Oral Functions, has been published by Wiley in 2022.

‘Brain, Behaviour and Dentistry’ – The first online course on the brain and behavioural issues for dental students and professionals, designed and lectured by Dr. Chia-Shu Lin, has been launched on 5/23 2022 via the international e-learning platform FutureLearn (a 4-week short online course).
