January 16, 2024: Jeet is awarded the DBT/Wellcome Senior Fellowship Award.
October 18, 2023: Yashaswi successfully defends his PhD thesis. Yashaswi's thesis work unraveled the molecular basis of the slow wash-off of the spider toxin, DkTx, post-TRPV1 channel activation revealing a crucial role of the toxin's membrane affinity in its function. Congratulations, Dr. Singh!
August 2023: Saswati visits Prof. Shoulders' lab at MIT (USA) for a couple of weeks. Her visit was completely funded by the MISTI collaborative travel grant between our lab and the Shoulders lab.
July 2023: Prof. Matt Shoulders visits our lab under the auspices of a MISTI travel grant between the two labs.
June 10, 2023: Our study on elucidating the molecular basis of sustained activation of the TRPV1 ion channel by the spider venom protein, DkTx, is out in J. Biol. Chem.
April 3, 2023: Our invited ChemBioTalent review on protein-metabolite interactions is published in ChemBioChem.
March 24-25, 2023: Jeet presents an invited talk at the 10th annual meeting of the Chemical Biology Society of India held at KIIT Bhubaneswar on our work on lipid chemical biology.
December 2022: Jeet has been selected as a "ChemBioTalent" by the Wiley journal, ChemBioChem.

September 26, 2022: Aditi successfully defends her PhD thesis. She is going to join Prof. Laura Kiessling's lab at MIT for her postdoctoral training. Congratulations, Dr. Dixit!
August 25, 2022: Our work on developing a fluorescently labeled version of the TRPV1 agonist, the double-knot toxin (DkTx), is accepted in Bioconjugate Chem.
August 2022: Aditi visits MIT (USA) for a couple of weeks. Her visit was funded by a MISTI travel grant between our lab and the Matt Shoulders lab at MIT. In addition to engaging in extremely fruitful interactions with Matt's lab during the visit, Aditi interviewed for postdoc positions at MIT, Harvard, Boston College, Stanford and Scripps while in the US, securing several job offers. Congratulations, Aditi!
July 2022: Aditi is awarded the EMBO and Infosys Foundation travel grants for presenting a talk at the EMBO Chemical Biology Workshop 2022 to be held in Heidelberg, Germany in September, 2022. Congratulations, Aditi!
June 27, 2022: Our work on the discovery of the mammalian choline metabolite and lipid-interacting proteome is accepted in ACS Chem. Biol. The first author, Aditi, is featured here.
June 13-17, 2022: Jeet visits Prof. Matt Shoulders' lab at MIT, USA under the auspices of the MISTI travel grant between his lab and the Shoulders lab, and presents an invited talk to the MIT-Harvard-Broad community entitled "Lipids and lipidic metabolites as protein function modulators: What the TRPV1 ion channel and chemoproteomics taught us".
June 5-10, 2022: Jeet presents an invited talk on the lab's work on the DkTx-TRPV1 system at the BPS Conference, Molecular Biophysics of Membranes, held at Tahoe, USA.
April 2022: MIT PhD student, Kathryn Yammine, from the Shoulders lab visits us to work on our MISTI-funded collaborative project. Students from our lab will be visiting MIT soon!
Aug 25, 2020: We use our favorite spider toxin, DkTx, to shed light on the role of TRPV1 ion channels in orchestrating fever (published today in PNAS).
Feb 19, 2020: Jeet presents an invited talk on the lab's work on TRPV1 ion channels at ISCSM2020 held at IISER Pune.
Jan 28, 2020: Debayan successfully defends his PhD thesis. He will join the Pless lab at Copenhagen for his postdoctoral training. Congratulations, Debayan!
Dec 17, 2019: The lab is awarded the MIT Global Seed Funds travel grant (MISTI) in collaboration with the Shoulders lab at MIT.
