The Chelsea Community Forum (CCF) met via Zoom on the 11th of September. Approximately 11 people participated.
After observing a moment of silence for the victims of the September 11th attack, the Chelsea Community Forum was Zoom bombed. The Moderator chose to cancel the remainder of the session and then increased the security settings of the Chelsea Community Forum’s Zoom account. The incident was reported to Zoom.
The September 11th Forum was not recorded.
Our upcoming meetings will continue on Zoom. The October meeting, originally designed to be an open candidate forum, featuring Mayoral and City Council candidates has been canceled. Three of the candidates did not respond to the invitation, sent September 3rd with a request to RSVP by 5 PM September 28th. The moderator considered sending another e-mail, but chose not to pursue that avenue. The moderator considered using scripted questions for the candidates that accepted our invitation and muting the audience during their responses, but felt that this would go against the spirit of the Forum’s full audience discussion and participation.
Consequently, the October 9th Forum will be and open discussion of topics chosen by the participants.
The next Chelsea Community Forum is scheduled for October 9th at 9 AM. The CCF is open to all with an interest in the affairs of the Chelsea School District area and meets the 2nd Saturday of every month at 9:00 AM, currently on Zoom. The meeting link can be found on the Forum’s website: https://sites.google.com/site/chelseamiforum/home and is advertised through the Chelsea Update newsletter.
November’s meeting and discussion is in conjunction with Civility Month. More to follow.
