About Our Chapter
Alpha Pi was founded on March 11,1959, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
We are located in Region V of DKG State, the North Carolina State Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International.
Our members are active and retired educators who have been employed or reside in Chatham County, North Carolina.
Membership is by invitation to those outstanding educators who have contributed to their profession and their community.

On April 30, 2026, the Alpha Pi Chapter provided cookies at the Chatham County Schools Beginning Teachers Meeting in Pittsboro. President Bunnie Brewer and Vice-President Peggy Douglas delivered the cookies. Receiving the donation is Alpha Pi Member Norma Boone, Executive Director for Teacher Induction and Title II for Chatham County Schools and former Alpha Pi President Edris Glover.
Chatham Alpha Pi is committed to supporting public education in our community through the Chatham County Schools Beginning Teachers Program.
