On Saturday's we play a golf game called a Scramble. Scramble events are played on The Villages executive courses and offsite. It is a team competition in that 3 or 4 player teams are competing against other teams on the same day at the same course. Lowest team score for the round wins. Entry fee for the Scramble is $2 plus $1 for Closest To The Pin competition. Click Here for Closest To The Pin competition rules.
Rules;
All four/three team members play a team scramble to the cup for all nine holes.
Three player teams; one player hits two balls on three holes and plays both balls into the cup.
This is rotated between the three players. Only the first shot is counted for the CTTP hole.
If you have a forth player (Pick Up – not playing in the scramble) then the threesome only plays three balls on all nine holes.
Men hit from the Gold Tees and Ladies from the Green Tees.
Each player contributes $2 to the pot. Depending on the size of the group we may have multiple winners. In case of a tie see Tie Breaker.
Closest to the Pin competition is $1 per player. See Closest to the Pin for rules.
The total entry fee is $3.
Plan on meeting after the round for something to eat and drink. The Winning team(s) announced and prizes awarded at the social.
You do not have to be present to win. If you have previous commitments and you're on the winning team, than we will make sure you get your bounty.
Everyone Have Fun!
Tie Breaker;
In case of a tie we will go to the score cards.
A random number is selected by a non player.
This number will represent the first hole to use for the tie breaker.
Say the number is 4 then we will use hole four on your score cards.
The winner of that hole is the winner. If still tied than we will proceed to the next hole until someone wins or all winners are selected. we are still tied, than we will flip a coin to determine the winner. If we have three or more score cards with the same score than the first team to win the score card playoff is the 1st place winner, next winner is second and next winner is third
Closest to the Pin;
Use the same tees you are using for the Scramble.
Your tee shot must come to rest on the putting surface (not on the fringe or beyond) to be measured.
Remove the flag and position the round flange on the bottom of the box into the hole. On the side of the box is a screw marked (Hook Tape Here) align this screw toward the ball and attach the free end of the tape measure over the screw. Measure from the screw to the front edge of the ball.
A pad of paper, pen and tape measure are provided to measure and record your shot. Only record shots that are shorter than previous shortest tee shot by gender.
If no one is listed then record your shot. Remember there are two winners (Men/Women) per hole.
The group coordinator will provide the first foursome a marker.
The first foursome will place the scoreboard at the selected hole. The scoreboard should be placed toward the back of the green on the fringe so it will not interfere with future tee shots.
The last foursome will either pull the sheet or pick up the marker with the pad of paper, pen and tape measure and return it to the group coordinator as per instructions.
The winners are announced at the social. You do not have to be present to win.
Hole-In-One;
If a player gets a Hole-In-One during the Scramble then he/she will get the Group’s prize money (Pot and CTTP).
Hole-In-One player must be at the social to receive the prize money and buy drinks (minimum of one drink for each group player).
If the Hole-In-One player is not present then the prize money will be awarded normally.
