Runners & walkers (of all distances), volunteers and cheering squads all welcome! This race benefits Engaging Creative Minds, a local non-profit that works with South Carolina's public schools to provide creative learning opportunities that encourage imagination and innovation to help students achieve academically, stay engaged in school and succeed in life.

Our FB event is to help CBR organize and create support for the Charleston Marathon. Please join if you will be participating in ANY WAY (even if you are not running)!

VOLUNTEER/CHEER INFO:

--We need people to help cheer on the course--seeing friendly faces (& signs) provides support and helps make the race more enjoyable (plus when runners shed clothing, it's nice to be able to pass things off to a friend during the race).

--If you plan on being out on the course, please post IN THIS EVENT where you plan on being (mile marker & intersections), if you will have anything to make you easily identifiable (clothing/signs), if you will be taking pictures (yes, please!) and if you are willing to help collect clothing along the course (usually helpful along the first 2-5 miles of the course).

RACE INFO:

This race has the option for the full, half or the Shrimp n' Grits 5k. Everyone gets the grits, beer/mimosas, medals and shirts! The swag for this race last year was pretty sweet. (There is also a bike ride for anyone interested)

--5K: starts at Park Circle, 8:00 am

--Half & Full: starts at Charleston Riverdogs Joe Riley Stadium (330 Fishburne St.), 8:00 am

--All races end at Park Circle.

POST-RACE MEET-UP:

Plan on meeting up at Madra Rua Irish Pub - Park Circle to cheer on people as they finish the Half and Full.

POST-RACE PARTY:

After the race is over, let's plan on heading to Holy City Brewing for a CBR brewery takeover! Group photo and toast will be at 3:30pm in front of the Holy City shipping container.
