Ernest In't Panis

Ernest In't Panis (1876-1950) was a Flemish painter who lived and worked in Antwerp. He was the oldest son of Charles Int Panis.

Ernest was involved in the restoration of art in churches in Antwerp. He is known to have put the gold leaf on the weathercock on tbe bell tower of the Antwerp cathedral. The weathercock was taken down and brought to his workshop.

Apparently he rarely signed any of his work (which includes a series of Stations of the Cross in a Dutch church) and therefore remained an anonymous artist for most of his life.

Most of the paintings attributed to him show flowers.
