British Library Harley MS 682 Transcription

The majority of Charles d'Orleans's English poetry is in a single manuscript, British Library Harley MS 682. This manuscript has been digitized and can be viewed here on the British Library's website. The project to produce a modern English edition of the Duke's poetry is based on this manuscript, with assistance from Arn's Fortunes Stabilnes.

About the transcription:

This is the current working copy of the transcription, updated as the project advances. It is a representation of the text as I see it at this moment, and will be corrected in the future. I have made the best effort to represent characters as faithfully as Unicode allows, with some abbreviations being expanded if the character is not available as of Unicode 14.0.0. Transcription follows the guide in Clemens & Graham's Introduction to Manuscript Studies (2007).

Current transcription version: 3.0

Changelog

05/21/22 - No longer including marginal numberings (see Arn 1994, pg. 118, for an overview of this issue).
