Quantitative phase-contrast imaging of cell motility

Digital holography can achieve both intensity and phase information of the object field. Using the quantitative phase map, we can study the functions of cells. For example, the tiny traction force cells exerted on the cell substrate could be accurately measured using this technology. Also, this technology enables visualization and quantitative analysis of the cell trafficking trajectories in vivo.
