Central McDougall Community League is a 100% volunteer organization that leads projects and activities in our neighbourhood, and works to connect people and make McDougall a better place to live.
Free for CMCL members! Sunday Pool and Fitness Centre access (2-4 pm) at MacEwan Sport & Wellness
The Central McDougall Community League hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including Santa on Ice, our fall BBQ, and the annual Flower Barrel Project.
We also collaborate with partners like the City of Edmonton and Edmonton Police Service and advocate for our neighbourhood on key issues such as crime and safety, community renewal and revitalization, neighbourhood and district planning, and support the summer Green Shack program and other city and community-led initiatives.
In addition, volunteers plan and develop valuable local community amenities including our signature Central McDougall Park (aka "the purple park"). Work is ongoing to rebuild the community garden and develop a new ice rink. Please note that we do not have a community hall.
We're always looking for neighbours to connect with and support new ideas! Volunteer for the board or a committee, or simply let us know you can lend a hand with one of our events. Contact us if you're interested.
Monthly board meetings are held the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. (or on the fourth Monday, if the third Monday falls on a holiday). Contact us in advance at office.cmcl@gmail.com to confirm the date and time if you plan to attend (league members are always welcome), or if you have any other questions or comments.
Are you a Central McDougall resident or property owner? Contact us directly to purchase a membership for $1.
You can also purchase one online for $6.
Your $1 membership includes access to a free weekly swim/gym time (plus membership discounts) at MacEwan University Sport and Wellness, as well a weekly skate time at the Downtown Community Arena.
The City of Edmonton also offers a community league discount on a whole range of memberships and multi-admission passes at their recreation centres—through its Community League Wellness Program.
