The South County Historical Society (SCHS), is based in Arroyo Grande, CA. The Society covers the area of southern San Luis Obispo County including the communities of Avila, Shell Beach, Pismo Beach, Edna, Grover City, Arroyo Grande, Oceano, Halcyon, Huasna, Los Berros, Oso Flaco, and Nipomo. SCHS is dedicated to research, restoration, and dissemination of information that our historical heritage may be enhanced, and preserved.
On March 20, 2010, SCHS opened two exhibits focusing on Filipino Americans on California's Central Coast at the IOOF Hall, 128 Bridge Street in Arroyo Grande.
