TIPS FOR AVERTING TRAGEDY
SAVE, SAVE, SAVE! Make sure to save you work after you make any changes--otherwise, those changes will be lost.
BACK UP! Create a back-up of your pages by clicking on "HTML" at the right end of the tool bar at the top of the page. A screen with the html code will pop up--copy and paste to a Word document and save. This way, if for whatever reason your page disappears or gets altered, you can just copy the code back to the website.
FONTS
To convert font to the default font: Under edit page, highlight the text and then click on Format, then click on clear formatting.
Subheadings within copy should be bolded default text. Align left.
PHOTO CAPTIONS
Credit source: Courtesy of X institution or person. Also, if available, check the source of the image to see if it explains how to credit the image.
Caption the photo whenever possible
Use table to create caption and to keep it together with the photo.
Font color and size: Use default text and center align. Then color should be:[include html code for the color]
SUBPAGES
Please proceed with caution so that you do not delete any work already done!!!Â
To create subpages, first click on "Create Page" button at top right corner of the web page. After you create a page, it will not automatically appear in the sidebar. See next.
To make the subpages appear in the sidebar, you will need to click on link, "Edit side bar," at the bottom left of the page (at the bottom of the side bar). Then you will need to click on "edit" in the Navigation box. At the bottom of the page, click on "add page." Then find the page you just created and click "ok." The new page should appear now at the bottom of the list. Use the arrows to move the page to its proper place (up and down arrows) and to it's proper sub-level (left and right arrows).
