The Clark County Historical Society Museum is located at 502 S. 4th Street in Marshall, Illinois. We are open from 9 am to 12 pm on Saturday mornings from June 1st to September 30th for the 2024 summer season.
The Manly - McCann House, built in 1838, houses most of the collection. Uri Manley, a learned lawyer from Kentucky, came to Clark County in March 1833 and purchased Lot 9 in Darwin. He was appointed as the first postmaster of Marshall in 1837 and had an office in this home. Prior to that, Marshall residents received their mail at Livingston. The 1853 log house gives a glimpse of life long ago. The Visitor’s Center also houses special exhibits.
