Lollypop

RIP April 17, 2023

Abby and I were taking a walk. As we went past the yard of an abandoned house, we heard frantic meowing. Fearing that a cat was trapped in the shed, we went into the yard. As we tried to figure out how to get access to the boarded-up shed, this tiny head popped up from the debris under the shed.

After a few minutes, he came up to us and let me pick him up. There were no other cats in the area, so we carried him the half-mile home, and set him up in our yard while we figured out how to quarentine him in the house. No one claimed him after multiple posts to various local and lost and found pet lists.

This was the Saturday of the long Labor Day weekend, so I was unable to get a vet appointment until Tuesday. There, he was pronounced healthy, one pound 7 ounces, and male. That makes his birthdate around July 23rd, 2019. With the good labwork, we were able to let him out of quarentine, and he promptly started exploring.

Totally fearless, he has mastered every part of our home. We'll keep him.
