PUBLICATIONS

The area of my research is bilingual and biliteracy development.  I am particularly interested in early and adolescent bilinguals who maintain varying degrees of bilingual proficiency.  My current research focuses on what variables are associated with successful L1 (Heritage Language) and L2 (English) literacy competence.  This research was funded by various research and PD grants.  Besides this research project, I have also published a number of pedagogical research articles in the areas of TESOL and Second/Foreign Language Teaching.  I also had a peer-reviewed publication in 2016 from the research study I conducted based on the federally-funded grant project, ELSTEM (ESOL for STEM Educators) for which I am the project director and principal investigator.  In addition, more research publications about the ELSTEM project are on the way as this project is coming to an end in April 2018.
