Advanced Dance

Advanced Dance (005318/9 ADV DNC 6-8 LK) for grades 6-8 perfects students' strong dance foundation, learning more dance styles and continuing a focus on performing. The focus is on the areas of advanced turns, jumps and combinations,in addition to choreography development, perfecting advanced technique, and performance skills. Students experience multiple styles of dance such as jazz, contemporary, lyrical, Broadway, ballet, hip hop, Bollywood, and cultural.

• Performance: School and community events/concerts, Elective Preview Night, and Six Flags Vallejo; participation in performances is part of class grades.
• Prerequisites: Audition tryout is required. Students should have a strong understanding of advanced fundamentals in jazz, ballet and lyrical dance upon entering this class.
