" Last week we stated that Mr. C. D. Camblin was very low and not expected to live. He died on Monday evening and was buried at Mt. Moriah cemetery on Wednesday, and was followed to his last resting place by a large concourse of friends and relatives. Mr. Camblin was born in Washington county, Pa., on the 3rd of March, 1809 and was therefore nearly 78 years of age. Mr. Camblin's father moved to Warren county, Ohio, in 1812, where he grew up to manhood. He was married in 1834 to Miss Deliah Ball, by whom he had two children. In 1839 she died, and in 1840 he was married to his bereaved widow, whose name was Hannah Briney, and with whom he has lived nearly 47 years. Six girls and three boys were the fruits of the last marriage. The children are all married but the youngest daughter. Mr. Camblin came to this township in 1854. He purchased and operated the first reaper ever used in this township which was one of McCormack's first make of machines, and when harvesters came out he and one of his sons purchased the first one; and again they were the first to purchase and operate a binder in this vicinity. Mr. Camblin endeared himself to his neighbors by many acts of kindness. In 1858 when corn was selling at one dollar per bushel, he had plenty, refused to sell it to speculators at any price, but did sell it out to his needy neighbors at 50 cents per bushel, often on credit even at that price, some of which has never been paid. He had been an active and consistant member of the M.E. Church for nearly fifty years.
