Brothers and Sisters,
I wanted to take a moment to send you a message, as we are one month away from the Presidential election. For the past few weeks, leaders of our union have traveled to battleground states across the U.S. to talk to as many members as possible about what is at stake in this election.
I know many of you have supported Donald Trump in the past, and many of you do now. But I owe it to you all to make sure I tell you the truth: Donald Trump doesn’t care about workers, and he has shown this time and time again. Just listen to what he’s said about unions, striking workers, and overtime. If he is elected, Project 2025 will take away so many of our rights as workers, including repealing Davis Bacon and getting rid of project-labor agreements (PLAs) and prevailing wage. These are the mechanisms that allow construction workers to be paid well and work safely.
In this message, I am joined by AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler, and we are here to tell you that unions have accomplished more in the past 4 years than ever before. The Biden-Harris administration has stood with us by walking picket lines, signing the infrastructure bill which has given our members jobs, and saving our members’ hard-earned pensions.
The Harris-Walz campaign will continue to build on the legacy of the Biden-Harris administration, to stand up for all workers and to keep the working class of this country strong. We want you to make an informed decision and vote for the party that has your best interest at heart.
Brothers and sisters, being one union, one family, and with one fight, is to act like it – even on election day.
