A group of CALA/NE Chapter members, Michael Huang, Charlene Chou and Minglu Wang presented at the LACUNY International Relations Roundtable on June 20th, 2013, in Bernard Baruch College Newman Library. Other CALA/NE Chapter members, Esther Lee, Ka Chuen Gee, Songqian Lu, Judy Xiao and Lina Ding also attended and joined the conversation about education Chinese for librarianship.
Tang (Tony) Cheng from Shanghai Normal University Library and other speakers from the US addressed the educational requirements for librarians in China and US, and discussed their own education both prior to and after beginning their professional careers. International studies have given several of the speakers a cross-cultural perspective.
