The Chinese American Librarians Association’s (CALA) Northeast Chapter invites you to march with AANHPI Library Workers and Bibliophiles in Better Chinatown's Lunar New Year Parade & Festival in Chinatown, Manhattan. This group is organized by AANHPI Culture Club at NYPL (ACC ERG), Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA Northeast Chapter), and Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA Northeast Chapter).
Marchers do not need to be a member of any of these groups; friends, family, and allies are welcome to march as well. RSVP is required, and space is limited. Please note that registration closes on Friday, February 20th, or until capacity is reached.
Please be aware that the parade route is about one mile long. Final details will be provided closer to the date of the event. Event Breakdown:
Parade: 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM (Chinatown, New York)
Festival & Booths: 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Bayard Street between Mulberry and Mott St)
2026 Parade: Year of the Horse.

The parade will officially start at 1 PM and end at 3:30 PM.

Route:
The route will be the same as last year and is as follows:
Mott & Canal to Chatham Square to East Broadway towards the Manhattan Bridge, completing on Eldridge and Forsyth Streets towards Grand Street next to Sara D. Roosevelt Park.
Please note that the route is about 1 mile long.
