On Friday, October 22nd, 2010, CALA Northeast chapter held its first board member meeting after the election of its 2010-2011 officers. The meeting was held from 3:00 - 5:30 PM in New York Mid-Manhattan Library. Invited also to the board meeting were past CALA Northeast chapter presidents, as well as some current CALA officers (see pictures below). The attendees discussed programs ideas for the 2010-2011 year, and made suggestions as to how to effectively reach out to our members and provide better services to our members. Hung-yun Chang, Treasurer of the chapter, reported on CALA/NE finances. Everyone was happy that CALA/NE has a strong balance sheet, which will help the chapter sponsor future programs and events.
Another agenda item discussed at the meeting was the development and maintenance of the CALA Northeast Chapter website. In July 2010, Judy Xiao developed a website for CALA Northeast Chapter. The board members voted unanimously to adopt the website as the official website for CALA/NE, and to elect Judy Xiao as its webmaster. As a result of this meeting, Lina Ding, the chapter President, drafted a timeline for several programs the chapter might be sponsoring:
January 2011, Seminar on Chinese Painting by the famous Chinese American artist, Hengyi Aixinjueluo.
February or March 2011, Members Reunion and Investment Lecture, Visit MoCA, or See a Broadway Show
April 2011, Visit Princeton or Columbia University Library
May 2011, Reforma Joint Mini-Conference
