Get to know me better ...

Tiger or Phil? Tiger, only because I think he is the better golfer.

Palmer or Nicklaus? Palmer

All Time Favorite Golfer?  I like Jay Haas; have followed his career since I first met him in 1977 at the Bob Hope Desert Classic.

Callaway, Taylormade or Other?  Ping clubs

Favorite Golf Ball? TAYLORMADE

Favorite Course in Bella Vista?  Country Club, though I think the Highlands is the prettiest course around!

Favorite Course Ever Played (Location)?  Have two favorites...TRUE BLUE, near Myrtle Beach, SC and GREEN HILLS, in Chillicothe, MO where I shot my first sub-par round and still hold the ladies course record.

At what age did you start playing golf? 24...first round of golf ever played was in 1977, Pebble Beach, after only a couple golf lessons.  I played 12 holes and said something to the effect "I'll never play this game again!!" Learned then to "never say never"!

How many holes in one? 2 (neither in BV)

Lowest score? 69, three times (last date was 6/13/10 at KW) !

When did you join the WGC?  1995

When did you move to Bella Vista?  1994

Where did you live prior to moving to Bella Vista?  Riverside, CA

Where did you grow up? mostly in Santa Ana, CA

Where else have you lived? Hawaii (born there); Jacksonville, FL;

Beaufort, South Carolina, yep, a Marine Corps "brat" and in college at NWMSU in Maryville, MO.

Children?  3 step children and one very cute Black Lab named Miss Mollie!

Grandchildren?  5 grandchildren

Great-Grandchildren?  not yet!

Hobbies? Golf and therapy dog volunteer work with Miss Mollie are my biggest hobbies.

Former Jobs? Other than a few odd jobs, I pretty much spent most of my working days teaching junior high Physical Education and Coaching; then moved into the classroom and taught English, Reading and Journalism.  I began part time work for the POA in 2003 at Tanyard Creek driving range, then Dogwood Hills Pro Shop and have settled into the Country Club Pro Shop the last 4+ years.

What else would you like people to know about you?

I have been blessed with meeting so many wonderful people through the game of golf; you all are very special girls!  BV is just the best kept secret in the U.S.

Many of you know about our dog, Miss Mollie, but I am going to share her story because we are proud parnets, you know....  :)

These past 7 1/2 years have been very busy and golf has taken a "backseat" to training and working with Miss Mollie...frankly I enjoy working inside a training facility more than outside banging golf balls at the range practicing!  We started "puppy school" when she was 10 weeks old, and except for a few months, we have been to some sort of "Dog Training" school every week.  Am most proud of her being on the television cable show called "All Pets Considered" preforming her graduation tricks from the class "Strickly Tricks" with trainer Deborah Grodecka of Every Dog Can in Bentonville.  She works magic if you need help with your pooch!!!

Miss Mollie earned her CGC (Canine Good Citizenship) award and passed her Therapy Dog International certification before she turned 1.  She and I began our TDI (Therapy Dog International, Inc) work soon after. We since have become a certified R.E.A.D. team (Reading Education Assistance Dog) but are not actively working in that capacity...saving that for when she is older and not such a wiggle butt!

We currently visit the Village House, Highlands Rehab and The Brookfield Assisted Living locations.  It is pure joy watching all the smiles and laughter she brings to so many.  Bill's role in all of this...he says his job is "driving Miss Mollie"; and he is very good at it, too!

Here are a few photos for those of you who don't know Miss Mollie...enjoy the view. :)
