2011 Announcements

September 14, 2011 - In spite of the difficult summer weather the lavender harvest was good, and we just bottled our last batch of Apple Mint honey for the season. We were lucky to be able to get a  Fall honey harvest of about 700 lbs. as well.  Thank you so much for all of your kind inquiries about our bees and lavender during the storms--all are fine.  We are looking forward to a great Fall season, so please be sure to check this site's UPCOMING EVENTS  as well as the links to our Facebook and Twitter pages.

July 5, 2011 - Busy Bee Farm's Cut Your Own Lavender events were featured in the Burlington County Times.  Lavender cutting continues tonight, tomorrow night, and Thursday from 6-8pm.

July 4, 2011 - See below for updated Cut Your Own Lavender dates and times, in response to the early lavender bloom and recent rains.

June 5, 2011 - Our mountain laurel is beautiful this year!  (See Photos)  We are really in the swing of the season now because one lavender variety has bloomed early.  Our 10 new beehives are doing very well, so we're hoping for a great honey harvest.  Our applemint infused honey is now available at all of our events.  It is only available from about Memorial Day until Labor Day, so it always tastes especially good to us!   Don't forget to register for Cut Your Own Lavender!

April 27, 2011 - Phillyburbs.com published a story promoting the re-airing of NJN's Jersey Fresh series, which includes a segment about our farm.  The Burlington County episode will air in May--see the story for details.

April 25, 2011 - We are pleased to provide more Cut Your Own Lavender dates this year!  Come out and enjoy the peace and beauty of our farm.  See schedule below.

Hopefully we all will enjoy more sunny days so that our new lavender plants can be planted out in the field soon.  Steve was able to check the bees recently, so enjoy a few new pictures.

April 5, 2011 - Watch the growth of a lavender plant this year. See photos at our Facebook Page.

April 1, 2011 - In case you missed us on TV where we were featured on an episode of NJN's JERSEY FRESH, you can still view it at njn.net/njfresh, Episode 2.   We sincerely appreciate all of the wonderful comments we received about our farm from viewers.

It has been a very busy winter here.  In addition to continuing our work on the NRCS Pollinator Habitat and irrigation grants from last year, Busy Bee Farm will also be working on an NRCS Forestry grant as well as one for Organic Certification.  We are very appreciative and excited about these terrific opportunities to help beautify and keep our farm environmentally sound.

We also currently have 1000 more lavender plants potted up in the greenhouse for outdoor May planting.  Among them are five new varieties for us that we want to try for their culinary and scent appeal and also for some of the deepest purple flowers available.  Ten new beehives will also be arriving later this month.  Time was also spent on planning to make our farm more comfortable and attractive for our visitors.
