This is going to be a data dump for the next few weeks as I organize into a better format, so please know that the site will improve over time. For now, the following facts are more of placeholders for my thoughts.
While we slowly compile information about the history of the creek, I can post here the more readily available information about the physical characteristics of the creek. The study of water the hydrology information.
The current hydrologic unit code (HUC) for the area containing Bushy Branch is 03020201.
The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NC DEQ) classifies the creek as a "Class C" water. The Supplemental Classification is "NSW" or Nutrient Sensitive Waters. This is rather generic, and no specific impacts have been identified for this particular creek. However, the downstream water body is eventually Lake Raleigh, which does have an "impaired" status.
A city map of the storm water features leading into the upper reaches of Bushy Branch is below. This will be expanded into a fuller view of the area in the next couple of months.
